This site collects contact information from people who want to sign the recall petition or request a yard sign. Here is exactly what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to have it removed.
This site is operated by a group of Seward County residents organizing a recall petition for County Commissioner Todd Stanton, District 1. We are not a government agency and this is not an official Seward County website. Questions about this policy can go to any of the organizers listed on the Where to Sign page.
We only collect information you type into a form yourself. We do not require an account, and we do not collect anything from visitors who simply read the site.
If you use the “Tell Us You Want to Sign” form, two things:
That is the whole form. We do not ask for your address, your email, or anything else, because none of it is needed to meet you with a petition.
If you use the yard sign request form:
Kansas law requires recall petition signatures to be collected in person and in ink (K.S.A. 25-4324). An online form cannot legally count as your signature. That is the entire reason we ask for contact information: so an organizer can reach you and arrange a time and place to meet you with the actual petition.
We do not ask where you live. Whether you are registered in Commission District 1 is already a matter of public record on the county voter roll, so there is no reason for us to collect it from you. For yard signs we do need somewhere to leave the sign, because someone has to physically deliver it.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your information with anyone outside this organizing effort. Not with political parties, not with candidates, not with advertisers, not with data brokers.

We will not add you to a general mailing list, text blast, or newsletter based on a form submission. If we ever want to contact you for a different reason, we'll ask first.
Form submissions are stored by Netlify, the service that hosts this website, and are accessible only to the organizers who handle petition outreach and sign delivery. Netlify processes this data on our behalf; its own privacy practices are described at netlify.com/privacy.
We keep the list access-controlled. It is not posted publicly, not kept in a shared public document, and not circulated beyond the organizers who need it to do outreach.
Submitting a form on this site does not make your name public. Your form submission stays private to the organizers.
However, please understand the difference: signing the actual paper petition is a public act. Under Kansas law, a filed recall petition is submitted to the Seward County Clerk, where it becomes a government record subject to public inspection. Anyone — including Commissioner Stanton — may be able to see who signed. We would rather you know that up front than be surprised later.
You also have the right to change your mind. Under K.S.A. 25-4324, anyone who has signed the petition may withdraw their signature by giving written notice to the county election officer at any time before the petition is filed.
We keep contact information only as long as this recall effort is active. Once the petition process concludes — whether it results in an election or not — we delete the contact lists collected through this site.
Telephone any of the organizers listed on the Where to Sign page and ask us to delete your information. We will remove it and tell you when it is done. You don't have to give a reason.
This site does not use advertising trackers, analytics pixels, or third-party marketing cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive your IP address when a page loads — standard for most websites, but worth stating plainly.
This site is intended for adults eligible to vote in Seward County. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and change the date at the top.
